Carefully Check equipment Wattage or Amps before buying Converter /

Example 1:
You are going from the United States to Germany. You want to take your
Audio System with you
You know:
American electrical power is about 110 Volts; German power is 220 -
240 Volts
Name plate indicates your audio system takes 10 Amps or about 1,100
Watts ( Watts = Voltage x Current)
You need a Voltage Converter that changes 220 - 240 Volts to 110
Volts and capable of delivering at least 10 Amps (1,100 Watts)
You can select Voltage Converter Model UDC-1500 with an output of 110V
@ 13.6 Amps
or Voltage Converter / Regulator Model SVC-1500 with an output of 110V
@ 13.6 Amps
Note: Your State side Audio will only draw 10 Amps if connected to 110
Volts. Since both units you selected as possible converters provide
slightly larger current capacity than required by your equipment,
converters will operate below rated current, with an extra margin of
safety.
If in doubt about required Converter rating, select next larger size
for SAFETY

Example 2:
You brought a nifty pasta maker back to the US from Italy
You know:
Italian electrical power is 220 - 240 Volts; American power is about
110 Volts
Pasta maker Manual indicates device takes 700 watts or about 3.2 Amps
at 220 Volts
You will need a Voltage Converter that converts US 110 Volts to 220 -
240 Volts, capable of delivering at least 700 Watts
You select Voltage Converter Model UDC-750 with an output capability
of 220V @ 3.4 Amps (750 Watts)
or Select Voltage Converter / Regulator Model SVC-1000 with an output
at 220 Volts of 4.55 Amps (1,000 Watts)
Note: At 220 Volts your pasta maker will only present a 700 watt load
(3.2 Amps). Both selected Converters are rated to deliver more power
than required by the pasta maker, either choice will be operating with
a lighter load than its rating, thus operating cooler, providing an
even greater safety margin than already provided by product design
If in doubt about required Converter rating - - - -
select next larger size for SAFETY
